depositors meeting 6

art & river bank では、恒例の年末イヴェントalmanac7の企画として、「depositors meeting 6」を開催します。「depositors meeting」は、作品を介した自由な接点を構築することを目的とした、ファイル閲覧形式のイヴェントです。例年同様、キューレータ、評家、ギャラリスト、アーティスト、学生など、様々な立場の人にセレクターを依頼しリスペクトするアーティストのファイルを集めてもらうパートと、個人で参加するフリーエントリーのパート、2部門を設けて行います。参加条件などは下記をご参照ください。


概要
ファイルは、なるべく先入観なしに見ることができるように、 下記に示す形式に統一します。形式をみたしているかなど最低限のチェックと、運営上の経費の分担という意味での参加費をお支払いいただければ、アーティスト、学生、キューレータなど、立場を問わず自由に参加できるようにと考えています。また、表現内容もファインアートに限らずデザイン、建築、詩、批評、料理などなどジャンルは問いません。
なお、会場では art & river bank の過去の展示作家のファイルも閲覧いただけます。

形式
無印良品のA4版の白い半透明のポケットファイル　（*注　リング・ファイルではありません）
「ポリプロピレン　クリアホルダー　A4」
（*注　横幅のサイズが2種類ありますが短いほうのサイズです）
厚さは自由（ポケットの数が10，20，30，40，60と5段階あります）

ファイルの最初のポケットに、タイトルと参加者名を明記
ファイルのポケットのどこかに略歴を入れる
ファイルの表紙には、文字やペイント画等を描いたりしないこと
ファイル内に住所、e-mailアドレス, HPアドレスなどの連絡先のいずれかを明記

小山陽子 “Renée, la lune”

小山陽子の新作の“Renée, la lune”は、“she, sheep”、“no dark”から続く、作家自身の部屋の暗闇を捉えた写真で構成される作品です。注視し続けなければ、決して浮かび上がってくることのないイメージ。今回小山は、自身の闇へ向かう意識を、マルゲリーテ・セシュエーの報告する分裂病の少女、ルネに重ねるかたちで説明を試みます。現実の世界を取り囲む、底知れぬ非現実の世界に気づいたとき、人間の精神はバランスを欠き、頼りなく振動し、崩壊に向かい始めます。ルネは、自身を取り囲む非現実の途方もない深みを、光の国と名づけ、それと抗い続けていくことになります。小山の凝視める闇は、絶望を象徴するそれではなく、むしろ、絶望から脱するための糸口のようなものなのです。

Yoko Koyama’s new work “Renée, ｌa lune,” which follows her earlier works “she, sheep” and “no dark,” consists of photos that capture the darkness of the artist’s own room. As in those previous works, the images in her photos do not manifest themselves unless one closely examines them. In this exhibition, Koyama attempts to demystify her own mind that is turned toward darkness through superimposing it with the mind of a schizophrenic girl named Renée, who appears in Marguerite Sechehaye’s book “Autobiography of a Schizophrenic Girl: The True Story of “Renée.” When human beings become aware of the unfathomable, unrealistic world that surrounds the real world, their minds tend to lack balance, vulnerably waver and then begin to collapse. Renée called the unfathomably deep unreality surrounding her as “The Land of Light,” and continued her attempt to resist entering that land. The darkness that Koyama focuses on does not symbolize Renée’s state of despair, but acts as a clue for her to escape from despair.

原田晋 "window-scape...-scape"

一貫してTV画面を撮影してきた原田晋のシリーズ" window-scape "の新作は、これまでとは異なり、デジタル・フォトフレームで構成されるインスタレーションです。わたしたちの世界を取り巻く、モニタに映し出される種々のイメージ群。わたしたちはそれを、実際にその光景を目にしたわけでもないのに、そこにでかけて行ったわけでもないのに、あるいは、そのような人物に会ったわけでもないのに、すべて経験しているかのように錯覚しています。原田が一貫して告発してきたこうした問題が、再び、ＴＶやコンピュータのモニタかと見紛うフォトフレームのなかに再現されるとき、わたしたちは不思議な思いにとらわれることになります。原田の告発もまた、原田が凝視めてきたものたちと同じように、単にモニタのなかに浮沈する、実体を欠いた幻想のようなものかもしれない。わたしたちは、その真偽を判断することもままならず、ただ単に呆然と明滅する光の塊を見つめ続けることになります。

Susumu Harada’s new work in his series “window-scape,” a series in which he has consistently utilized scenes that are photographed from a television monitor, is different from his former works in that it is an installation composed of digital photo frames and a projector. We commonly see a variety of diverse images that surrounds our daily world through TV monitors. We live under the illusion that we have experienced everything that we have seen on television, even though we have not actually looked at those scenes with our own eyes, visited those places, or met those people. Harada has consistently raised this issue of that illusionary state in his works. As we view such scenes reproduced inside his digital photo frames (which can be mistaken for televisions or computer monitors), we become seized by a strange feeling. Just as in the scenes he has continuously gazed at on his own television, Harada’s appeal that he makes through showing such scenes on the digital frames might also only be illusions that lack a sense of entity, due to the transient nature of the scenes that merely rise and vanish inside the monitors. Without us having the awareness to even ascertain the truth of what we are viewing in the photo frames, we end up absent-mindedly staring at the mass of flickering light in the monitors.

チープなサスペンスでさえ、被害者の死の真相を究明することがなによりも供養になるという最低限の倫理をわきまえている。死の真相を伝えないまま、毎年繰り返される慰霊ほど、彼らを侮蔑するものはないだろう。彼らの死の真相を想うこと。dog's death という死の真相を。なお、通常と開場時間が異なります。ご注意ください。
Even a cheap suspense understands the minimum moral that examining the truth of a victim's death is the best memorial service. Probably, there is nothing more contemptuous than memorial services repeated every year without telling the truth of death. Think about the truth of their death, the truth of the death of “dog's death.”　Our opening hours is different from usual. So, please pay attention for dates and hours not to miss it.

◆ talk event “random art vol.3”
8月15日　19:00 時より、a5 主催によるトーク・イヴェント、”random art vol.3”が開催されます。参加者は、増本泰斗（アーティスト）、杉田敦（批評家）、冨井大裕（アーティスト）、吉崎和彦（インディペンデント・キュレータ）です。
The talk event called “random art” is planning at 19:00 on the 15th of August. The members are following, yasuto masumoto(artist), atsushi sugita(critic), motohiro tomii(artist), kazuhiko yoshizaki(independent curator).

山根英房（やまね・よしふさ）の新作“stand for the world”は、本を積層させるプロジェクトに基づいて、本やビデオ、写真などで構成されるインスタレーションです。プロジェクトは、友人や知人の部屋を訪れ、その人の所有する本に、山根自身の本を追加して、一本の柱になるように、床から天井まで慎重に積み上げていくというものです。なんでもないゲーム的な行為ではあるものの、記録を目にする人々は、不思議な感覚に包まれることになります。本来の意味とは異なる目的で使用されている書物たちは、やがてその部屋や、そこに住む人物について雄弁に語り始めます。部屋の様子との奇妙な調和や乖離。世界の中に投げ込まれ、そこで呼吸する一人の人間が、よすがとして身の回りに手繰り寄せた本たちは、彼らの世界そのものでもあるのかもしれません。また世界は、そうした人々によって構成されている、本来共有可能な要素などない幻覚なのかもしれません。

松井宏太郎（まつい・こうたろう）の展覧会、"anon. diary"(名のない日記)は、写真、ドローイングを中心として、オブジェなども交えて構成されるインスタレーションです。一見すると何も描かれていないかのようなドローイングは、目を凝らしてみると、びっしりと細かいテクスチャが描きこまれています。会場に足を踏み入れた人々は、はかなげで、透明な印象のイメージをたどるうちに、独特な松井の世界に引き込まれていくことになるはずです。
